Tuesday quicky

So, I'm just getting back to work after being off for one week and there is a lot for me to do so I have to keep this short and sweet.
The beach was FANTASTIC!!! I left early on Friday so I could make my friend's little boy's 1st birthday party and it was so great! I got to see all my good friends from home and their little babies (who are growing like stinkin' weeds!!) I miss my girls so much and it was so wonderful to see them again and talk about our little families.
Tomorrow is our ultra sound!!! And mom, my sister, and Paisley are coming up for the appointment!!! HOW EXCITING RIGHT!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYYY!! I can't wait to find out what we're having!! I'm sooooo betting it's a boy! I got sooo much more excited about that prospect after this weekend when I saw my friends boys and seeing all the dads and sons fishing out on the beach together. I just know Phillip will raise a fine young man and that's all I can ask for :) I'm kinda creeped out right now though. My belly is really growing and really showing. I was putting lotion on my belly and noticed that when my tummy stretched a little it made my belly button disappear! Yup, that's right, my belly button is on the move people!! I was like, "Whhhhaaaaaat!!?" Seriously! It's not as deep anymore and is fo' sho' on the move! Creepy right?
Katie found out today she's having a little boy, I'm sooo super excited for her. She's the co-worker that is due one or two days after me. I'm thinking we're gonna have a boy who will be his best friend, and Phillip will take the two hunting and fishing!! LOL! I can just see Katie's little boy in camo..... I'm laughing so hard right now!! I don't think she'll be having any of that!! I love it! :)

P.S.
I'll put up my pictures from the weekend as soon as I get my camera charged!

Beach bum

So, I have internet here at the beach cottage.... who knew!? Things here have been fantastic!  I'm really enjoying just sitting around the house, sunning on the deck, taking ferry rides back and forth to where-ever, and indulging in shrimp (but only a few times since my intake is limited for seafood).  The weather has been amazing.  I think all beach trips should be planned for the month of May from here on out.  The wind has been a beast and it's kept the sun from beating down on us and absolutely wilting us.  Today is the first somewhat cloudy day, but the sun is still shining and is lovely.  The beach is at the end of our road (about 5 houses down) so we can wander as much as we want.  The cottage is great.  It's 4 bedrooms/2 bath.  It's got three porches on the upper level.  One porch is screened in with a cute picnic table, the other is higher with a hot tub (kinda useless for me right?) and sun chairs, and the other porch is up on the roof overlooking the neighborhood, with sun chairs as well.  The bottom of the house is the typical stilts part of the house where we park the cars.  There's also a large area to mess around in, with a shower area outside, and a swing that has become my best friend.  I miss the days of swinging on the playground.  It's so peaceful.  Anyway, the trip down here was an absolute beast.  It was about 12 hours all together.  We stopped at our family's cottage on Harkers Island and napped for about 3 hours in order to get up at 4:30 to catch the morning ferry on time.  Then, we had about 4 hours where we waited for, or rode our two ferry rides to finally get to our destination.  Needless to say, by the time we actually got down to the cottage my ankles were non-exsistent.  I've never seen my ankles swell up, and I didn't expect anything like it this early in my pregnancy.  They were blown up like the Michelin Man!!  Phillip and I have walked on the beach everyday and that has helped tremendously.  So, on our trip here we rested at Harkers Island which overlooks Cape Lookout Lighthouse, docked at Ocracoke Lighthouse, and we're on Cape Hatteras, which is the place for Hatteras Lighthouse.  It's been quite the adventure!

Well, I'm gonna go baby my sun burn, so I gotta run.  I've done pretty well with not burning, except for the sides of my feet which got missed somehow in the sunblock rubdown.  I'm pretty lucky with my blisters compared to the sun-blister Maria got on her left knee (yes, that's right, just one leg, and on the knee, LOL!)  Take care friends!!

"Oh Capri!"

Lyrics to the sweetest song...ever. If you don't have it, go get it.

Colbie Caillat
Album- Coco

She’s got a baby inside
And holds her belly tight
All through the night
Just so she knows
She’s sleeping so
Safely to keep
Her growing
And oh when she'll open her eyes
There'll be no surprise
That she'll grow to be
So beautifully
Just like her mother
That’s carrying
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
Baby inside she’s loving
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
There is and angel growin’ peacefully
Oh Capri
Sweet baby
And things will be hard at times
But I've learned to try
Just listening
Patiently, oh Capri
Sweet baby
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
Baby inside she’s loving
Oh Capri
Your beauty
Just like your mother
That’s carrying...Oh Capri

There's a happy rumbly in my tumbly....

Dinner last night was amazing. I made grilled, marinated pork chops, grilled pineapple, and grilled zucchini.... delicious! Next time I think I'll add rice pilaf to the mix. Not including the time for marinating my pork chops, the prep time was about 10 minutes!! It took about 15 minutes to cook everything! :) Sweet deal huh?
It's as simple as, getting bone-less pork chops, tenderizing them, and letting them marinate for a couple of hours in whatever marinade you choose. I chose Lawory's Garlic & Herb marinade and it was AMAZING. Wash and slice your zucchini and brush it with a touch of olive oil, then salt and pepper it. Grab you a can of pineapple rings, drain the juice. Once your grill is heated to a medium heat, place all of it on there. Make sure to rotate those chops, zuchinni, and pineapple halfway through. Don't leave the chops on there for too long because they dry out quickly, but also make sure to cook the pink out of them. It all comes out done at the same time and it's sooooo good! Trust me, your belly will be thanking "Chef Sara!"
Happy Hump Day!

Fresh on the grill

I had to put this picture on here to show you the aftermath on our grill from where P caught it on fire. Notice the dark marks across the front, behind the handle, from where the flames licked the top of it. It was soooo nice and shiny and pretty from me cleaning and polishing it that day, and now look at it. It's sooo sad! (and yes, I clean and polish my grill!!... who doesn't??... ok, I admit it... I'm a little anal retentive)

After the flip

DELICIOUS finished product

.......your welcome!!!

My "Almost Mother's Day" re-cap

Well, it wasn't technically Mother's Day for me, but I call it my "almost Mother's Day". It was very nice and relaxing, thank goodness!! My husband greeted me with Bojangles for breakfast (sweet Lord I love this man!) and a book on aprons called "A is for Apron".It's fantastic, especially since I have a secret obsession with aprons. It goes through the history of aprons, pictures of vintage aprons, and a crap load of patterns for aprons. It's realllly an awesome book. Then, I got control of the remote control. Sweeeet!~ My hubbie has been on a kick of having to watch seasons of tv shows instead of actually watching them on tv. So, we're on season 5 of CSI right now. Needless to say I'm sick of bugs, guts, and maggots during my dinner/down time. I was nice though. I watched some of my favorite shows that have been sitting and waiting for me on the DVR, and then I let him watch some of his CSI. We had a taco-bake for dinner. Ohhhhh, it's soooooo yummy! It comes in a little kit in the grocery store, and it's basicly just layers of tortillas and taco meat. It's usually one of my favorites, along with the queso dip that we had, but not so much anymore. People always told me that if something makes you sick when your pregnant you'll never eat it again and I never believed them. Yup, I definitely do now. I was up alllll night with my arms wrapped around the toilet or a trashcan. *****Ugh.... wont do that again....***** I guess I can thank my lucky stars that this is really the only sickness I've had since I got pregnant!
I gotta make this short and sweet, but I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and got to relax, at least a little bit. I gotta get back to work. I am leaving for a week at the beach this Friday, so I gotta make sure everything at work and at home wont fall apart while I'm gone. See ya later :)

Friday... part deux

My co-worker just gave me my first Mother's Day present. Things are on their way to looking up. Thanks Nelia!~ :)

Friday.... at last!

All day Wednesday I had the mentality that yesterday was Friday. I even came to work in my jeans (which is an "only Friday" thing we can do). So, it made it very hard to get through the day. Today, Lord, it's another story. I had the hardest time getting myself to walk through the doors at work. I just was nooooot feelin' it. Ugh~! Today has been another one of those emotional days. I was looking through some OLD pictures on my 'puter and it just reminded me how far from home I am, and how I wish I were closer. Could you guys send up a little prayer for me? I'm really needing it today, especially since I'm gonna miss having Mother's Day at home with my mom. I can't imagine what's it's going to be like having my first Mother's Day w/o my baby when it's old enough to move away.

CVS deal

I'm feeling a little past the point of sleepy this morning, so I'm keeping this post short and sweet. Today is voting day, so I'm off to the polls. Have a great day guys!

I was in CVS last night gathering cards for all the mothers in my life, birthday's this months, and unfortunate deaths. I wandered around the store a little more and then decided to check out the ads. They have amazing deals going on with their makeup right now, but even better is their steal on laundry detergent. They have their bottles of Tide (100 ounce) liquid detergent on sale for $4.99 with the CVS discount card, regularly $7.99. Attached to the tops of these bottles is an extra dollar off coupon. Sweeeeeeet!~ So, needless to say, I snatched up 6 bottles (the max) for a purchase price of $3.99 each! All 8 cards I bought cost more than the laundry detergent! Woooot!
P.S.... it's official.... this thrifty girlie has gone over-board! :)

Babies, babies, and more babies!!!

This past weekend was a fun filled, and baby filled weekend. I got to see Monica, her hubbie, and their new baby, Parker. Parker is the sweetest and cutest little bundle!!! I just loooooved snuggling him and smelling his sweet baby smell! Then, I went home and spent the weekend with my neice who had "Hand, foot, and mouth". That pour baby had blisters all in her mouth, on her chest, and on her hands where she had drooled and the infection caused more blisters. She wasn't infectious by the time I got to visit with her, but she was still pitiful. Then, the next day, I got to see my nephew and Phillip's side of the family his baby shower. Poor Brian, Melissa, and Jacob were just overwhelmed with all the people they had to meet and all the thing they had to do at the shower. I'm not looking forward to doing that myself for our baby showers. Eeeee-gads! Just a warning to my readers, I'm about to post a crap load of pics, and attempt to post video of Paisley crawling. She's so stinking hilarious b/c she looks like a wounded war victim when she crawls! Oh, and my diaper cake turned out FANTASTIC!!! Behold the John Deere diaper cake that has gotten me a first class ticket to hell:

WARNING: Here comes a crap load of pictures!

Now here are pics of our visit with sweet Parker:

Tired daddy!!!

He's a total natural at this stuff.... it makes me feel good :) !!!

SOMEBODY FOUND THEIR THUMB!!!!

I'm sooooo ready for my own!
Now, pics of my time with Paisley-baby:

"This Cheerio WILL go in my mouth!!!"

This is a video of Paisley trying to get Gizzy's toy. She's just learning how to crawl and doesn't move one of her legs so she looks like a wounded war victim:

Going to hell in a hand basket

I am going home this weekend for a baby shower for my new nephew, Jacob. I'm not really sure what to get him since his whole registry was purchased before they even adopted him. I think we'll probably just do a gift card and let them get what he realllly needs, but he's been with them for almost a month now, so they probably already have everything.... who knows?? Anyway, my mother-in-law was at the baby shower we threw for my sister when she was pregnant and loved the diaper cake I made for her.

She has asked me to do one for this shower. I'm not really sure what the theme is, but his side of the family is very country and love the whole hunting, fishing, manly life-style, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with a John Deere theme. My problem came when I stood in Walmart for an hour and a half trying to find John Deere toys for the top of the cake that were age appropriate for him to play with now. So, I eventually settled a pack of J.D. tractors and other J.D. vehicles (for ages 3+......eh, oh well, let's hope he doesn't go chewing on the wheels!) and needed to find some animals and other things to decorate the cake with. So, I walked down the road to the Dollar Store and COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME find a pack of barnyard animals there or Walmart. So, I look behind me and there is this glowing pack of figurines called "Noah's Ark". It's Noah, his wife, a few animals, and some fake food. SCORE!!~ I bought two packs, got everything home, and started assembling my cake. As I was ripping open the Noah's Ark pack and pulling out the plastic bread, corn, pumpkins, and hay, I noticed that Noah and his wife got discarded and put into the trash pile. So, seriously people, pray hard for me. I really think this is a first class ticket to hell for me.... all in the name of a diaper cake!
...(and look there is a even the all important little dove in the package that I ditched... sweet Jesus please forgive me!)

Here is the cake in the beginning parts of assembly- before I decided it was too small and added 40 more diapers.

I'll put up more pictures when I get the ribbon, John Deere stuff, and half of Noah's crew on there. Have a great weekend. Probably wont be able to post til Monday!
(...oh and P.S.... don't know if you can tell but the Food Network Challenge is on in the background showing the scene where the chef passes out and falls out in the floor during the "Surprise Proposal Cake" show...... needless to say, she didn't win... bless her heart!)
